Q: I'd like to learn to clog and live in the Philadelphia
region. Do you hold classes? |
A: Yes, we do. Our classes
are suitable for those who are thirteen years and older.
We usually teach in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia,
from September - May. |
|
Q: How can I become a performer with FiddleKicks?
How often do you rehearse? |
A: If you are an experienced
clogger, tap dancer or musician please contact

|
Q: Can you suggest links to find out more
about clogging? |
A: Here's a link to A
brief history of clog dancing. And, a link that explains
Clogging,
What is it? Another favorite is Back
in Time by Ruth Pershing.
Here's a great site that among other information includes
how to find
clogging groups all over the USA and beyond.

A: Yes! Check out Talking

modern clog dancing is based. A film by old time music master,

Q: I'd like to practice clogging at home.
Can you suggest any videos available for sale? |
A: Check out Ira
Bernstein's merchandise page. And Steve
Smith's, too. We've practiced to a few of their videos
and have found themto be very helpful! Peggy also likes to

Q: Are there social dances in the Philadelphia
area where I can clog? |
A: Many of our dancers and
musicians attend, play and/or call contra & square dances
in our region, an ideal setting to include a few clogging
steps during a dance OR to clog on the side of the hall. The
closest contra dance to our "home" in Philadelphia
happens every Thursday
night in Glenside. Check out the Seven
Day Guide to Folk, Social and Traditional Dancing in and around
Philadelphia for other dances.
