FiddleKicks presents Spring FeetBeat '07 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts*, Harold Prince Theater, 3680 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-6219. 8:00 p.m. 90-minute concert.

Whoop It Up! with FiddleKicks! Join us for a high energy concert of Appalachian clogging and percussive dance - English sword, Cape Breton, tap and more. All set to the toe-tappin’ music of Matt Brown’s Lone Prairie Band, featuring Paul Brown and Beverly Smith, with Bill Quern. Special guest performer and narrator Phil Jamison brings authentic flatfoot to the stage. Audience participation follows the concert.

Conducted by Phil Jamison, a nationally-known square dance caller, old-time musician, and traditional Appalachian dancer from Asheville, NC. His flatfoot dancing was featured in the film, Songcatcher, for which he also served as Traditional Dance consultant.

This is a rare opportunity to learn interesting and fun traditional steps, as well as to hear Phil share his in-depth knowledge about the history of this uniquely American dance form. Live music will accompany the workshop.

Beginner/intermediate level. Leather shoes with a smooth hard sole that slide are recommended (no taps, please.)

$10 (March 2nd concert attendees will receive $5 coupon toward this workshop)
